How can I shop successfully for Jewellery online!

How to successfully shop for Jewellery online!

Shopping for jewellery online is easy!

Here’s How
Look for clear photos! A well-photographed picture should give great clear detail.

•Look for a descriptive and detailed review!
•Read the description: a well-described item should give you a precise idea of the size, shape, color and so on. Nobody wants to find when they open their much awaited parcel the jewellery is nothing like they thought it would be.
•All measurements should be accurate to the millimetre!
•Photos are a great way to see the jewellery up close but until you read the measurements and compare them on a ruler it is often hard to imagine just how big the item actually is.
•Compare and understand descriptive details: diameter: how wide an item is across, length: how long an item is, height: how tall an item is, weight: how much an item weighs in grams, color: the actual real life color as many computer screens do show shades of difference in color, metal: solid gold, sterling silver, rose gold, white gold, gold plated, silver plated, genuine: is it a genuine product or an imitation or manmade version.
Shopping for jewellery for friends and all the family is easy when you know size.
Always measure with a ribbon or string around the neck/necklace, wrist/bracelet, ankle/anklet for each person you are shopping for as the size can differ a lot.
For example: A necklace for a man will generally be 50cms up to 70cms, for a teenager or woman the size will generally be 45cms up to 50cm and for children 40cms up to 50cms

A qualified jeweller can manufacture, repair and shorten jewellery using professional solder.
Buying charm bracelets with open jump rings for babies and children is not safe as babies put everything into their little mouths.
All charms should be professionally soldered to your bracelet for a safe and secure fit.
For example: all our charms are professionally soldered making them safe and secure and we are very happy to design, manufacture, adjust and resize special requests for babies, children, teenagers and adults in every size.
Ask for help if you are not sure about what you are looking at!
We will always respond promptly to your questions and will always be happier to know you are buying exactly what you actually want!
It is a Win, Win situation when our customer is very happy with their purchase and will return to buy more jewellery and we have fulfilled our desire to sell our jewellery products knowing it is exactly what our customer is looking for and will look forward to the customer returning to our store again!
Be sure to your order has a secure postage option.
You want to know the item is insured and will be guaranteed delivery.
Be familiar with postage costs so you can see if a seller is reasonable with postage costs.
Use the Australia Post postage calculator if you are unsure.
A courier service (eParcel) or registered post are the best options for jewellery as signature is required for delivery and there is always delivery proof available from Australia Post for tracing an item that has not arrived.
We will always follow up a missing parcel for you!

We will give you good old fashion service, fine quality jewellery, great value for money and those little extra trimmings like free gift boxes and free gift wrapping, Jewellery for gift giving is gorgeous when presented as we do!

How do I take care of my pearl jewellery?

Taking care of pearls.
Your pearls are of organic origin with a soft and delicate porous surface.
To maintain their beautiful lustre, and to prevent damage, some simple care instructions should be followed.
• Store your pearls separately, away from other jewellery. A soft cloth bag is ideal.
• After wearing, wipe your pearls with a damp soft cloth to remove any perspiration, makeup or body oils.
• Ideally have your pearls rethreaded by a professional jeweller who offers a pearl re-threading service every 1-2 years. If you need to wash your pearls use warm very mild soapy water. Use a very mild pure soap and never use detergents. Rinse in clear water. Pat dry with a soft clean cloth. Lay out on a towel to dry. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners.
• Perfumes, skin preparations, hairspray and cosmetics all can be damaging to pearls. Complete your toiletry preparations prior to putting on your pearls.
• If you follow these simple steps your pearls could become an heirloom and be treasured for generations.

How do I care for my jewellery?

Proper care and handling of your jewellery can help it maintain its beauty and sparkle for years to come. When you have purchased your precious jewellery, it is important to take proper care to ensure it lasts and maintains its sparkle. The hardness of a gem is based on a gem trade standard called Moh’s Scale, developed in the 19th century. The scale rates the hardness of a material out of 10 and at each higher number it can be abrasive to a material with a lower number. Diamonds are rated at the highest of 10; rubies and sapphires are 9; emeralds and topaz are 8; garnets, tourmalines and quartz are 7. Those materials below 7 can be scratched including opal, turquoise, lapis lazuli, coral and pearl.
Gold, silver and platinum metals are only rated at between 2.5 and 4 on Moh’s scale of hardness which means they require special care, cleaning and storage.
Here are some simple and easy steps in maintaining your jewellery.
Do’s
It is very important to have your jeweller check your rings and other jewellery for wear and tear. Have them cleaned and polished at least once a year. Your jeweller may recommend that this be done more frequently on certain pieces.
Clean your diamonds with a mild liquid detergent and a soft brush, or one of the specially designed jewellery cleaners available from your jeweller.
Have your jeweller re-string your pearls once a year, as the strand could be stretched and by contact with chemicals such as perfumes and hairspray. Have pearls knotted between each one, this will prevent the loss of pearls if the string should break.
Wash your pearls with a softened cloth of mild soap and water after taking off to remove perfume, hairspray and cosmetics etc.
Wrap your pearls in tissue paper or place in a cloth bag when storing and keep them in a box away from other jewellery as you don’t want your other jewellery to scratch the pearls.
Storage your jewellery in a jewellery roll when travelling, it will keep the jewellery organised and free from tangles and scratches.
Don’t
Diamonds are durable, although they can chip. Avoiding this can be done by not wearing diamond jewellery while doing heavy manual work.
Remove jewellery before using household cleaners as they can contain chemicals which can be harmful to your precious jewellery.
Never allow your jewellery to come into contact with chlorine bleach, as it can pit gold alloys.
Never put your jewellery down thoughtlessly, as they can be easily misplaced or lost. Always put them into a lined box and store in a secure place.
Never wear your jewellery while showering or cleaning, as gold jewellery will develop a soapy film and dull the appearance.
Never expose your gemstones to salt water and harsh chemicals, which will dull and erode your gems.
Never rub silver with anything other than a polishing cloth or piece of felt.
Never allow sterling silver to come into contact with chlorine, as this will tarnish the jewellery.
Never clean cultured pearls with chemicals or abrasives, as this will damage and scratch the surface of the pearls.
Avoid allowing pearls to come into contact with perfumes, hairspray and cosmetics.
Never wear jewellery to bed or while participating in sport, as this may cause kinking, snagging or breakage.
